The private Vatican tour departs from the Main entrance to the Vatican museum where your guide will be waiting holding a sign with the tour name on.
Please report at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start time. This is mandatory to allow time for pre-departure briefing.
The tour ends at St. Peter's Square
Meet your English-speaking guide at the main entrance to the Vatican Museum at your chosen start time. The tour proceeds on foot to visit:
• Vatican Museum and St. Peters Church : See one of the largest art collections in the world, spanning from Roman, Etruscan and Egyptian antiquities to contemporary art. Learn about the famous Popes of Rome, their love for art, and their glamorous lives in one of the most enlightened periods in Italian history, the Renaissance.
• Sistine Chapel : The Sistine Chapel, in the Apostolic Palace, is the official residence of the Pope in the Vatican City. The chapel is famous for its architecture, and the frescos by the greatest Renaissance artists, including the legendary ceiling by Michelangelo.
• St. Peter's Basilica and Square : This immense area houses many precious works including the breathtaking Pieta' by Michelangelo, and Bernini's papal canopy. The tomb of Saint Peter is the focal point of the basilica.
The tour will finish in St. Peter's Square.
Please call the local activity operator anytime between 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Saturday, atleast a day prior to the start of the tour to confirm the departure details.
