St. Peter’s Square
You will meet your English speaking guide in front of the Colosseo metro stop on the street level next to the magazine kiosk. Your day begins at the Colosseum. Your guide will walk you past the long queues and take you straight into this majestic Roman Empire structure with skip-the-line tickets. An architectural and engineering wonder of the ancient world, the Colosseum bears witness to both the glory and brutality of the Roman Empire. It is inhabited by myriad tales of bravery, public life and royalty in ancient Rome. Despite the pillage of natural disasters, fires, pollution and wars, it is a living proof of the stunning architecture and strong masonry of ancient world, and has served as a model for stadiums around the world.
Next, head to the Roman Forum and see breathtaking views from outside a stunning overlook, where you will spot the Senate and the Temple of the Vestal Virgins. Listen to the history of the sites as your guide will tell you how Rome became the heart of a vast empire.
Moving forward, you will stop at the Pantheon. One of Rome's most enduring monuments, it has survived almost entirely intact. The Pantheon can be seen as the embodiment of the highest Roman building technology and of its purest architectural taste. While you admire its largest un-reinforced concrete dome, hear stories about how it was built and why has it inspired other famous buildings like the St Peter’s Basilica and the US Capitol Building.
Enjoy a delicious gelato as you will stroll through the streets made famous by films like Roman Holiday, stopping at the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona & Bernini’s Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi for photo opportunities.
You will be then taken in a taxi or bus to the Vatican where after a short lunch break (Approx. 1hour 15 minutes) you will meet your Vatican expert guide and skip the lines to delve into one of world’s greatest collections of art. Visit the Raphael Rooms, ancient sculpture galleries and the stunning Hellenistic ‘Laocoon’.
See Michelangelo’s frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. Every corner of the chapel is decorated; with mosaics on the floor and intricate frescoes on the wall painted by the early Renaissance artists. Feast your eyes by looking at the luminous paintings on the ceiling and behind the altar painted by Michelangelo.
After the Sistine Chapel, you can either spend more time in the Vatican Museums or follow your guide and gain direct access to St Peter’s Basilica with skip the line tickets. You can spend as much time as your wish at the Basilica and explore the Papal Crypts, or climb the dome to the highest manmade point in Rome.
Your tour ends at St. Peter’s Square.
There is a new rule at the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill that only small backpacks and regular-size handbags are allowed inside. Guests with larger bags will not be allowed to enter (there are no storage facilities) and all guests must now pass through a security check before entering the Colosseum.
The Colosseum has changed its admission policy to ensure that only 3,000 people are allowed within the amphitheater at any given time, meaning much less crowding during busy periods. Although our tickets are pre-booked with Skip the Line access, this may mean a slight delay on entering if capacity has already been reached. We expect that the instances of this will be limited but ask for your patience if you travel on a busy day and are affected by this unavoidable circumstance. In all, it should make for a much nicer experience for all (and longer general access lines!).
St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel are holy places and thus, the attire must be appropriate for the visit. Both men and women are asked to wear clothing that covers at least the shoulders and knees. Failure to comply might result in denied entry. Since the chapel is at the end of the Vatican visit, it is sufficient to bring extra coverings with you and put them on before our entrance to the Vatican.
Your afternoon tour will end at St Peter's Basilica, where you will have skip the line entrance to get inside, though there is no guided explanation inside the church.
No refunds or re-bookings can be provided for late arrivals or no shows after the tour starts.
Voucher information: No need to print! You can show your voucher on your smartphone or other device.
You must carry a valid Passport, driving license or any kind of ID that has your official identification with you on the day of visit to Colosseum as direct access to arena floor is subject to various checks. We recommend to bring all original documents as photocopies won't be accepted.

This tour was with Walks of Italy - Our tour guide Guilia was very informative & knowledgeable, the use of headsets & radio's was helpful to be able to hear what she was saying especially when we were in noisy situations. The stop for Gelato was very welcome & perfectly timed. In the afternoon we were asked to meet up at 1:30pm instead of 2pm, giving us only an hour for lunch which made this feel slightly rushed. I would recommend this tour as a good introduction to the sites listed above.
Great service, friendly staff, great price, perfect place
Excellent guide, booking and meeting guide, though the meeting time was changed (earlier) after booking
