Meet your guide at the meeting point, near the Arch of Constantine and begin your tour with a visit to the Colosseum. Walk the past the regular lines with your skip-the-line Colosseum ticket and enter the most majestic structure of the Roman Empire.
Once inside, your guide will tell you the history of the Colosseum and narrate stories of bravery, battles, public life and royalty in ancient Rome. Pause to see for yourself the amphitheatre that once had a capacity to hold 50,000/80,000 spectators. The Colosseum is a living proof of the stunning architecture and strong masonry of ancient world, and has served as a model for stadiums around the world.
Next, pass by the Arch of Constantine and see the excavated ruins of the Roman Forum. Historically the forum was once of the cultural hub of Rome and the venue for festivals and triumphal processions when triumphant Roman armies returned from battles.
From the Roman Forum, climb up to the Palatine Hill, the most popular of the seven hills of Rome. Romulus and Remus were said to have been found on the Palatine by the she-wolf who nursed and raised them. Legend has it that Romulus went on to found Rome.
