The Sistine Chapel’s paintings cover about one-sixth the size of a football ground! And, seeing it for yourself during a Vatican City tour is one of the best things to do in Rome!
After you’ve seen the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museum, you can follow your guide to St. Peter’s Basilica. Considered to be one of the holiest places for Catholics, St. Peter’s Basilica is also a perfect example of exquisite architecture for its time. You’ll enjoy a 45-minute tour of this holy place with your guide. Take in the opulence and beauty inside St. Peter’s Basilica. See Bernini’s Baldachin, which was much criticized when Bernini finished the 96-foot structure in 1633. Please remember that the Sistine Chapel is a holy place and your attire must be appropriate for the visit. Both men and women are asked to wear clothing that covers at least the shoulders and knees.
St. Peter's Basilica may be closed during special celebrations/festivities, including the Easter ceremonies. If this occurs during your visit, we will spend more time inside the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museum. We are unable to provide refunds in this case.
While the Vatican Museum is equipped with elevators for wheelchair and stroller access, they are not conveniently located on the group tour route and only give access to specific sections of the Museums. As a result, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs on any of our group Vatican tours.
Please note that guests may only carry small handbags inside the Vatican Museum. Larger backpacks must be left at the cloakroom. It is the responsibility of the guest to collect your belongings from the Vatican Museums entrance after the tour.
