You will be dropped in the vicinity of your hotel or Via G. Amendola 32.
You will be picked up from your centrally located hotels and travel in coach, accompanied by a multi-lingual guide to the Roman countryside.
You will pass the ruins of the Baths of Caracalla on your way out of Rome. The Baths were built by the emperor Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, better known as Caracalla.
Travel along the Appian Way - the most famous and important road built by the ancient Romans - and past the Chapel "Domine Quo Vadis" the spot where tradition says Saint Peter had a vision of the risen Christ.
The tour winds along the ‘Road of the Lakes’ through the volcanic and hilly areas that form the outskirts of Rome. It also goes past the Colli Albani - a volcanic complex - with its many wine growing villages.
Among the castles and villas, collectively known as the Castelli Romani is the Castel Gandolfo, summer residence of the Pope. The tour passes through the small town and commune of Grottaferrata. This area is known for the traditional porchetta, a tasty spicy pork roast.
The tour then reaches Frascati a well-known and popular town. Here you will stop for a taste of the local wines and food and also get a flavour and culture of village life.
After the tour, the coach will be dropped you in the vicinity of your hotel or Via G. Amendola 32.
